Day 5: Driving and 2 new states!
Today we woke up early and hit the road. We had a long driving day today and drove from 7am until 5pm. We left Indiana, went through parts of Illinois, and then entered Wisconsin (a state none of us have ever been to), and finished in Minnesota (another state none of us have ever visited). We “love” the Loves gas stations! They’re so clean and always have great gas, snacks, and bathrooms. We’re excited to have those again! I finished my next book today so I’ll be on the search for a Little Free Library to drop it off in.
I was also looking back in our camping book and today is our 6 year anniversary of buying our Casita camper! Six years ago we drove down to Texas and picked up the camper we had ordered specifically for us!
Our campground in Minnesota is only 15 minutes away from the Mall of America so we had to visit there! It is huge! There’s a whole amusement park in the middle of it, it has 5 floors, mini golf, etc., etc. Blake and Ella got new sneakers and enjoyed the NBA store, while Evan ogled over Legos at the Lego Store and bought a couple books and a Funko Pop at Barnes and Noble with a graduation gift card! It was fun to hear all of the 90s music playing as we walked around too! Haha
After today, Jason and I have now been to all but 8 states and will knock off 3 more during this trip. None of the kids have been to Rhode Island and Evan hasn't been to Delaware or New Jersey either, so Evan has 11 states left and Ella and Blake have 9 states left.
