Day 14: Canada! Waterton NP and Banff NP

We left Glacier today and headed to its sister park to the north, Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta, Canada. We visited the visitor center and the quaint little town in Waterton. I had gotten some postcards at Glacier for my incoming students and I found a cute little mailbox and stamps at the town gas station. I’m hoping that my new students will be excited to get mail and maybe even write back to me! Afterwards, we drove down Red Rock Parkway in the park to hike a couple short hikes—Red Rock Canyon loop and out to the Blakiston Falls. Then we headed further north to our campground and Banff National Park, also in Alberta, Canada.

We visited the downtown visitor center to get a feel for the area and park and then spent the evening exploring the town of Banff. It’s such a neat town and has lots to do and so many shops! We shopped and then went down to the Bow River. There’s an art trail path along the river that we walked and it ends at the Bow Falls. The area is so beautiful and pictures don’t do it justice!
